SUB AQUA DiveCenter Phuket closes - keep diving Thailand
SUB AQUA Phuket

SUB AQUA DiveCenter Phuket closed its doors on 30th June 2016.
Many were shocked to hear of the closure but ex-Dive Center manager Kerry Leach explained it this way:

"The diving is still there and still good but unfortunately Phuket island has lost its appeal with many divers who would rather choose a diving liveaboard or choose to stay in the quieter resort town of Khao Lak.

SUB AQUA Dive Center continues to offer the best of Thailand's liveaboards. All liveaboards have been tried and tested (mostly by me), and proven so popular with our diving guests that this service will definitely continue. We continue to get the best deals and offers for Thailand liveaboards and we want to pass those on to our diving customers.

As such SUB AQUA DiveCenter changed their approach to diving in Thailand too. That meant closing the Phuket dive school while still offering divers the best of Thailand's dive sites. I believe it actually works out much better for everyone!

I always say that you can't dive Thailand without diving the Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock. Due to distance/travel-time to reach the dive sites, a diving liveaboard is undoubtedly the best way to do it. I worked 3 years on a liveaboard in Thailand and was never bored - I did some of the best dives of my life!

For day trips and courses, SUB AQUA DiveCenter does still exist in Khao Lak through our Partner DiveCenter, IQ-dive, which celebrates its 20th year in operation this year!

People continue to ask me if I am sad about the closure of the Phuket dive centre and of course, I have many happy memories from the dive centre and even more happy memories from the people I met there; divers coming diving with us in Phuket made the dive centre what it was.

However, things change and thankfully SUB AQUA DiveCenter will still offer diving holidays in Thailand and this time we offer only the best; Thailand liveaboards.

For those that dived with Marc, Javier, Simon, myself and others in the SUB AQUA DiveCenter team in Phuket, we can only THANK YOU. It was awesome!"

Kerry Leach can still be contacted via SUB AQUA DiveCenter and will continue to promote the Thailand liveaboards. You are welcome to contact Kerry if you have any further questions.
